I heard this great idea from a friend of Kenny’s a few years ago and never acted on it. Then I saw it on Bakerella and fell in love with the idea again. So what’s the idea…..collecting sand from all the beaches you visit and displaying them. What a great souvenir and memory keepsake!!! I just love the idea!!!! Now I’ll just have to convince Kenny to take me back to Nice and St. Lucia and the Bahamas and Key West. :)
The first picture is of the whole display in Bakerella’s home. The second picture is a closeup.

Photo Explanation: My dad just asked me “are you nervous?” and I reply “look at all those gifts!!!!”.
Wedding Tip: Perfect way to calm a brides nerves, set the gift table right in front of her as she walks down the aisle.
Shaun, this is how I feel every single day. I love my metrosexual husband!!!
The first time I ever tried a blood orange was when I was studying abroad in Switzerland. A slice of blood orange was served instead of a lime after a tequila shot. From that point on I was hooked to both tequila and blood oranges.
I have since found other delicious blood orange products. Trader Joe’s has a really good Blood Orange Italian Soda. Tonight I tried blood orange sorbet made by Ciao Bella Gelato. I found it at Harris Teeter, I’m sure you can find it in your local grocery store as well. It was good but tart, so be prepared.
Unfortunately, it is very rare that you actually see blood oranges. Now I’m just forced to drink the tequila alone.

Last night Kenny, Chris, Laura and I ate at Jackson’s for my birthday. It is a new restaurant in Reston Towne Center and owned by the same group that owns Artie’s and Coastal Flats and Sweetwater Tavern. We had gone to the bar the first weekend it was open and there was a two hour wait, so we went and had dinner at the oldie but goodie Clyde’s. But for my birthday I thought we should try it out. We called ahead which cut down the wait somewhat, but we still waited for 45 minutes. Once seated I knew that I wanted to try there Deviled Eggs appetizer and Fried Calamari. The calamari was wonderful. The eggs were a let down. They had something crunchy inside and it was not very good. The waiter said I was the first person who didn’t like them. I guess I like good old deviled eggs with mayo and mustard. The deviled eggs came with sugar cured pieces of bacon that were splendid, and I don’t like bacon.
For dinner I had the filet mignon and crab cake (it was my birthday). I love filet and it was very yummy. The crab cake was good too, it was literally hunks of crab meat, no filling. I think everyone enjoyed their dinners as well.
After dinner we walked over to Starbucks for my new weakness. It was a wonderful birthday!!!!!!!!!!
I saw the mirror below in “O at Home” and thought it was so neat. I know that it’s not very practical, but I thought it would be cool as an “I’m on my way out the door, one last look” mirror, or in a teen girls room, or as a piece of artwork in a guest bedroom. I had a lot of possibilities for it and it actually turned out to be $100 less than I thought.
So when I went to the website advertised I couldn’t help but check out the other items. The store is called Generate and it has very funky and unique stuff. Of course I think you should check it out.
Here are pics of an item that is so cool and an item I am completely weirded out by. The doormat says “Come In” when you come into the house and as you leave “Go Away”. Too funny!!!! The candle holder is odd, strange, demented, YIKES!!! It was so weird that I had to share with others.

I am absolutely in love with Starbucks Salted Caramel Signature Hot Chocolate. If you like very sweet rich hot chocolate, it is not for you. But if you like a smooth perfect combination of salty and sweet it is perfect for you.
Starbucks describes it as:This delicious sweet and salty combination brings together our rich, indulgent Signature Hot Chocolate and the flavors of buttery caramel and smoked sea salt. It is topped with whipped cream, a swirl of caramel and a sprinkle of our sea salt topping - a combination of artisan sea salt and Turbinado sugar from Hawaii.
Go to Starbucks and enjoy!!!!!

I love Damask!!!!!! And now it’s making a comeback. I’m traditional and stick with the black and white print. You can find almost anything in this print.
I found this file folder and reusable bag on Charming Cards. I love chic looking bags that are also green. Maybe if I had this one Kenny would not be so embarrassed when I take all the reusable bags to the grocery store.
My kitchen dishes that were giving to us as a wedding present are Damask and from Target.
I saw this apron on Hostess with the Mostess and feel in love!!!!
You can even get damask print garbage bags. Now that would get me to take the trash out!
Send me your favorite Damask items.

I saw this Paisley Gift Wrapping paper in the Good Housekeeping magazine. It’s actually from The Container Store. I love the print and the gorgeous green color.
I love this jacket from Old Navy. I have a cute black peacoat, but wanted something more “brown friendly”. I think this one is super cute and when I tried it on it was surprisingly heavy. Maybe I’ll add it to my Christmas List.
Send me your cute “Green Day” items!!!!
