My vote for Best Dressed at the 2009 Golden Globes is Eva Longoria Parker. This Reem Acra gown is absolutely beautiful. I love the deep red color and mermaid bottom. It fits her perfectly! What I love most is the scalloped looking edge along the top. It’s such a sweet, soft detail, but I think it makes the dress PERFECTION.
My vote for Worst Dressed, despite the fact that she is at the top of a lot of Best Dressed lists is Jennifer Lopez. I think the gold is cheap. That plunging neckline and bare back is just inappropriate for someone who is a mother. And it is not flattering to her figure at all. Put this dress on Megan Fox, that would be a much better fit, not “Jenny from the I need a comeback block”. Even Kate Winslet is looking at her like “you’ve got to be kidding”.
UPDATE - Below is a picture of Eva Mendes (see comment below)

I have been looking for a pair of Riding Boots. I know a little late on the trend! But I’m very picky and haven’t found exactly what I wanted. Then I was browsing through Lucky magazine and saw a pair from Nine West (pictured below). In the picture they are black, but the ones I like are a dark brown. Two problems, I’m not a fan of the buckle and two I can’t find them in dark brown to purchase.
Then I found this Ralph Lauren pair on Piperlime and I really, really like these. Only problem is cost, they are definitely the most expensive.
So as I did more shopping I found this other Nine West pair. I like the buckle and color a lot and they are available. The only problem is I don’t like how the heel is a different color from the soles.

I saw this list of Rules of Thumb in Readers Digest and thought it was very interesting, so I’m sharing a few.
**For every day you spend in the hospital, plan on one week to recuperate.
**To avoid lunatics on city buses, sit in the middle. The friendly lunatics sit as close to the driver as they can, and the unfriendly ones sit as far away as they can.
**Any cop will tell you that in a bar fight, the shorter of the two men probably started it.
**Keep white wine in your fridge and take it out 30 minutes before serving. Keep red wine out of the fridge and put it in 15 minutes before serving.
**As a manager, expect 80% of your work to be done by 20% of your staff. Also expect 90% of your headaches/problems to come from 10% of your staff.
And my favorite:
**You are wealthy enough to give some money to worthy causes when you can buy all the groceries you need.
